Antiques Group

Indulge your interest in antiques!   This is an afternoon interest group. Meetings are typically at 2 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in a member’s home, but can vary. Members take turns researching a topic, sometimes with a partner. The presentation may include examples, photos, or a slideshow, with members contributing any examples, photos, or information they might have. Occasionally there is a guest speaker, a tour, a field trip, a lunch social, or ‘old fashioned’ picnic. Topics in recent years have included lace, kitchenware, various types of china or porcelain, Swarovski crystal, sewing notions, Murano glass, old cookbooks, etiquette of the past, Christmas decor and traditions, purses and accessories, jewelry,
vintage tools, and identifying wood in antique furniture.
