We're part of a world-wide organization...

The Sudbury Club

The Sudbury (Ontario) Club was formed in 1948 with 65 Charter members and has grown to become a 100 plus member organization.  We have a history of providing awards to female students, performing outreach to the community and adding our voice to a number of social issues.  The Club raises more than $10,000 annually and has donated nearly $200,000 to education and community outreach since it was founded.  CFUW Sudbury is one of over 90 clubs in the Canadian CFUW/FCFDU.

CFUW is committed to:  the pursuit of knowledge, the promotion of education, the improvement of the status of women and human rights; and active participation in public affairs in a spirit of cooperation and friendship.

Ontario Council

Ontario Council is a 13 member Board that facilitates communication of information and ideas among the 55 Ontario clubs.  It encourages and initiates studies on matters of a provincial nature and makes representation to the provincial government or other appropriate authorities.

CFUW National

CFUW National is a non-partisan, voluntary, self-funded organization with over 90 CFUW Clubs, located in every province across Canada. Since its founding in 1919, CFUW has been working to improve the status of women, and to promote human rights, public education, social justice, and peace. At the International level, CFUW has special consultative status with the United Nations and serves on the Sectoral Committee on Education of the Canadian Sub-Commission to UNESCO.

CFUW will continue to enhance its role as a national, bilingual, independent organization striving to promote equality, social justice, fellowship and life-long learning for women and girls.

Graduate Women International (GWI)

CFUW Canada is the largest affiliate of the 79 member Graduate Women International (GWI), the leading girls’ and women’s global organization run by and for women, advocating for women’s rights, equality and empowerment through access to quality education and training up to the highest levels.
